I think we all know how that dog ended up on top. His trainer MS Mernardin, spent the entire pre-game week on her back, working the judges. This is outrageous. I demand an investigation.

This dog’s a glory hound.
It was puppy pandemonium at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night during the 149th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show final — where the coveted Best in Show was crowned.
This year’s competition was loaded with seven highly presentable pups representing their breed groups — all putting their best paw forward in this historic competition — but only one came away the top dog: Monty the Giant Schnauzer.

This was Monty’s third time in a row representing the Working Group. The stunning, strong-bearded black dog hails from New Jersey.

Monty’s owner and handler Katie Bernhardin held back tears while being interviewed on the podium.
“He always tries so hard and I’m just proud of him,” Bernhardin said. “Puppy did the damn thing and I’m so proud of him.”
Tuesday marked the first win for the Working Group since 2004 — ending the longest drought for any group in the famed competition.
Runner-up for the third time was Bourbon the Whippet representing the Hound Group — her third time taking second at the competition. The 9-and-a-half-year-old came out of retirement just days before barks went live at MSG this week. Since her last official strut, Bourbon mothered a litter of puppies.
Dogs and their handlers from all over the world assembled for the “Best in Show” competition on Tuesday night.
Other finalists included crowd favorite Neal the Bichon Frise representing the Non-Sporting Group; Mercedes the German Shepherd from the Herding Group; Comet the Shih Tzu from the Toy Group; surprise winner Archer the Skye Terrier representing the Terrier Group, and Freddie the English Springer Spaniel repping the Sporting Group.
The finals were overseen by Judge Paula Nykiel, who said that picking the best of the best is a “wonderful” but “difficult” responsibility. This was her ninth judging assignment at Westminster and the veteran won Judge of the Year in 2023.
Tuesday night’s show was the triumphant return of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show to MSG since it was relocated out of the city after the COVID-19 pandemic.
