248 colleges were ranked in order for allowing free speech on campus. The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) a non-profit conducted the analysis interviewing over 55,000 students.
As you may guess both left and right-leaning universities were found to stifle free discussion and First Amendment rights. In other words, McCarthyism is alive and well at institutions of higher (haha) learning.
As you may also guess, statistically speaking more censorship is coming from the left, since college campuses lean in that direction.
And the worst of the worst! Harvard!
The best?
My undergraduate alma mater, Middlebury clocked in near the bottom at #233. My graduate school, Univ of Chicago scored near the top #13.
